Melanie Hall

Melanie Hall is 3 times Australian Champion bush poet.  She hails from far north Queensland and boasts 100 years of storytelling in her family.  Her father, Frank Fayers writes and recites his original bush verse.  Her grandad, Arthur Cairo Fayers, or The Gallopin' Ghan was a legendary storyteller in Western Queensland.

Mel and Susie teamed up in 2008 to form a duo and Traveling Variety Show.  Between them they have won a swag of awards.  They toured in a wild looking Japanese Library Bus until 2016 when they settled in Lightning Ridge at their bush theatre A Hidden Gem.  Both Mel and Susie write and perform original comic and serious verse and recite traditional verse in duo voice.  They are currently writing 
a play about the lost women poets 
of the 19th centry that will tour in 
2021 and 2022.  

Susan Carcary

Susan Carcary loves the Aussie bush and has always loved bush poetry though she is a migrant from bonny Scotland.  Her family settled in Canberra where Susie lived and worked until she went on the road 
in 2005 to travel Australia.  Susie is an Australian Champion bush poet and yarnspinner
